How to Measure a Normal Glucose Tolerance Test

Use this as unequivocally normal:

Fasting 70 100 mg%

Peak {30 60 minutes) 120 160 mg%

Nadir (2 4 hours) 60 90 mg%

Delta (difference between lowest and highest reading) 30 80 mg%

Without going into all the criteria for ferreting out abnormal values that I published in 1977 (Superenergy Diet), let me call your attention to one criteria the delta.

If the delta is over 80 points, and you are overweight you most probably have hyperinsulinism.

If the delta exceeds 100 points, you have fulfilled my official criteria for abnormality.

If it exceeds 125 points, you’ve got it, baby.
